Are you looking for a friendly stay in Malta?

Then you have come to the right place. We offer you one of the best deals around because we bend backwards to make your stay here a memorable one.

At the Camilleri Family you will find a comfortable home, having your room on the ground floor where you could enjoy relative privacy. However, you are free to roam about the house and garden as you please! The house is equipped with Wireless Internet and this is free of charge.  We also have a vast collection of DVDs just in case you want to spend a quiet evening at home in a friendly family atmosphere.

Our home faces the sea and spreads over two floors. The location of Ta' Xbiex is a lovely picturesque suburb, with cheap bus connections all over Malta.

Our house has a panormic view from the Veradah across the blue waters to Manoel Island. You also get splended views of the Valletta Bastions and beyond!

We have been hosting students now for over 20 years, mostly coming from Switzerland, Germany and all over Europe. We've also had guests from places as far away as Brazil and Mexico.  Here you will experience genuine hospitality, abundant and tasty food, a comfortable room and facilities that will make your stay in Malta one to remember.

Sandra, your main host, will be caring for your needs. She will be making suggestions on where to go and how to get there.  (By the way Sandra's best asset is her cooking -   she is probably the best cook in the world -- but she does not know it!). 

Our house is well suited to host people from all walks of life. These include holiday makers, Students attending University, Students attending English Language Schools. We have also had people on Work Experience training. Our house is also a convenient place to stay when visiting or exploring Archeological Sites which are thought to be the oldest in existance.

Besides Maltese, the family can converse in English and some Italian.

We are only 10 minutes away from the bus stage. Our house is just a short bus ride away from the main shopping areas of Valletta, Sliema and St. Julians.

Paceville, with its night-life and Cinemas, Restaurants and Wine Bars is also quite close.

The Sea in Malta is never far away and swimming is one of the more pleasant activities in summer when the temperatures soar.  In Summer we have fireworks almost every weekend in some or other village - quite a spectacle - and its all for free!

A front door key is provided for guests to be free to ‘come and go’ as they please.

Who we are...

The Camilleri Family

We are a family of five: Sandra and Joe with their three grown up children Kevin (32), James (28) and Steffi (24). 

Both Sandra and Joe  have hosted foreign guests at "St. Matthew" for some 20 years, and really love to entertain visitors.  Sandra, the host mother personally cares for the house guests and prepares mouth watering dishes for the whole household. Joe spends most of his time at his office running his own Estate Agency. He is also an avid Model-Railway enthusiast.

Kevin, the elder son is an Advocate but works in IT. James is a University Student in his last year before graduating as an Electrical Engineer.  Steffi is a Chef working in a very busy restaurant in Sliema. 

Facilities

The spacious accommodation on two floors affords a spectacular view of Manoel Island across the blue water from its Veranda.  The guests' quarters are on the ground floor where relative privacy could be enjoyed.  Toilet facilities include a toilet, sink and shower (see Gallery).  There is also an internal yard where items of clothing could dry out after a day on the beach.  The double bedroom for use by the guests is about 12 square metres. Linen and towels are provided and laundry service is available too.  Guests may make use of a front door key to 'come and go', as they please...

The newly refurbished kitchen/breakfast room is fully equipped and guests are free to use it as required for the making of free teas and coffees. 

A Wifi Internet connecteion is available in all rooms free of charge.
